Kids Snowmobile Party

This year my son requested a Snowmobile Birthday Party. YAY! Since I haven't EVER seen any snowmobile themed party supplies this was a tricky request, but I think I pulled it off!

For the cake - I made a vanilla sheet cake and topped it off with a few mini snowmobiles, a fake tree and a couple snowmobile signs I made out of toothpicks and paper.

The Party Blowers were made from disassembling some generic ones and adding my own image to them with tape.

The hats were made out of assorted Amy Butler papers, Snowmobile Stickers I made with Paper Source Round Labels and some string. Next time I will definitely use stronger tape to hold the strings in.

The Party "Poppers" or Crackers were a hit with the kids...not so much with the parents when they found whistles inside. Once again I disassembled some generic ones and then added my own ribbon and snowmobile image.

All the Snowmobile Images are one of my original snowmobile drawings that I photocopied to make stickers, invites and other decor (like the banner, that isn't pictured). What a great birthday party theme you put together. Love the cake! Where did you find the snowmobiles for the cake. I live in Ontario, Canada, and have never seen anything like that. Would love to make this cake for my sons birthday, but am worried about where to find the snowmobiles??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Melanie,
Thank you for the compliments on the cake. I purchased the mini snowmobiles on Ebay. I think they are called micro-machines or something like that. Good luck with the party! Let me know how it turns out.
Take care,
Jess

Hi Jess,

Thanks for getting back to me about the mini snowmobiles. I came across these last night, but wondered if they were too small for the cake. I like them though because they have people on them. Was your cake a 9x13 size? Where did you find the tree? I was wondering whether a dollar store might have something like that? I am looking forward to the challenge of making this cake for my son! I know he will love it!

Hi Melanie,
Yes, I think the cake pan was about that size. I baked a double batch and stacked the cake layers on top of each other (with frosting in between). The tree is a decoration for those Painted Christmas House Displays. You could probably find one on sale now since it's after the holidays. Good luck!
