Rainy Day Fun
I've been wanting to make a fun little space for my son, so today I decided to clear out all the junk that was piled up under our basement stairs. After a good bleach scrub down, I created a little market using recycled containers, christmas lights and some other things we had lying around the house.
Parker's Market was a huge success! Although he charges quite a bit for his groceries, he does accept credit cards. After a good half hour the market closed down and a pizza shop was opened up. :)
It was a fun rainy day!

Easter Basket Options
Last Easter I decided to think outside the traditional basket idea and found this great little red vintage toolbox from the local Thrift Store. The Easter bunny filled it with all sorts of goodies. What a nice bunny. My son and I left the Easter Bunny a little slice of cake, a carrot and a sippy cup of water in case he got thirsty. He really appreciated that and left my son a little thank you note. Thank you Easter Bunny. We'll see you again soon. This year I'm thinking that THIS might be a nice alternative to the basket.

Modern Gift Tags for Wedding Party
I've been in the Gift Tag kinda mood lately. Here are a couple that I think would make great tags to attach to bridesmaid or groomsmen gifts.

Kids Snowmobile Party
This year my son requested a Snowmobile Birthday Party. YAY! Since I haven't EVER seen any snowmobile themed party supplies this was a tricky request, but I think I pulled it off!
For the cake - I made a vanilla sheet cake and topped it off with a few mini snowmobiles, a fake tree and a couple snowmobile signs I made out of toothpicks and paper.
The Party Blowers were made from disassembling some generic ones and adding my own image to them with tape.
The hats were made out of assorted Amy Butler papers, Snowmobile Stickers I made with Paper Source Round Labels and some string. Next time I will definitely use stronger tape to hold the strings in.
The Party "Poppers" or Crackers were a hit with the kids...not so much with the parents when they found whistles inside. Once again I disassembled some generic ones and then added my own ribbon and snowmobile image.
All the Snowmobile Images are one of my original snowmobile drawings that I photocopied to make stickers, invites and other decor (like the banner, that isn't pictured). If you are interested in your own custom personalized invitations or party supplies, please visit Moderncard, my online shop at ETSY.

First Baby Blanket
I just finished sewing my first baby blanket! It is made with a modern bird print fabric and white corduroy on the front. The center square is made with an aqua colored damask print. This same damask fabric covers the entire back of this blanket. I'm thinking of listing this on my shop (Moderncard) on Etsy, but I might just give it as a gift.

Parker Quotes
My son was three years old when he said this. His little sayings crack me up, so I made up some quote cards that I have around the house.
If you are interested in custom quote cards, please feel free to contact me by visiting Moderncard, my shop on Etsy.
